Sierra Leone invites 30-players ahead of FIFA U-20 World Cup

Sierra Leone U-20 female technical team on Tuesday released the names of 30-players, who have already commenced training session at the Football Academy ground, Kingtom, ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Libya

Mamadu FC and Sierra Leone Police FC both dominated the called-up players with the former having eight players, while the latter had 11 players.

Meanwhile, the technical team would be headed by Coach Victoria Conteh aka Coax, while Fatmata Turay would be her assistant, together with coach Abdulia Kaloga Bah and Habib Sesay as the goalkeeper coach. Marian Hero was appointed as the team coordinator while Mariama Koroma was selected as team doctor

The Sierra Princess would face Libya in a two-legged tie in the preliminary round of the African qualifiers with the West African side traveling to Libya for the first leg which is schedule between 21, 22 or 23 July 2017 and the second leg in Sierra Leone on the weekend of 4, 5 or 6 August.

A successful battle against the Libyans would setup the Princess a First Round battle against Tunisians, who would be waiting after they receive a bye from the preliminary draw.

 19 teams has been drawn by the African football governing body, CAF, to battle it for the only two qualifying slots given to Africa for the World Cup tournament in France 2018.

The list of invited player includes;  Elizabeth Mansaray, Bilkisu Davise, Fatmata Bangura, Cecilia Dauda, Kai Sesay, Ekundayo Massaquoi, Mamus Tamu, Tenneh Bangura (all of Sierra Leone Police), Jeneba Koroma, Isata L. Kargbo and Matilda Tarawally of Soccer Queens, Zainab Conteh, Doris Ansumana, Madiana Sesay, Hawanatu Conteh, Marie B Conteh, Theresa Rose, Lucian Sam, Adama Kargbo, Mariatu Jah, Zainab Kamara and Marie B Conteh of Mamoud FC while Emma Kamara and Aminata Fofanah were drawn from the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Force. Adama Kamara from Premier AC, Fatmata Belon and Fatmata Sesay from Suba FC, Christian Thomas and Weah Mahai were both from Kenema while Isata L. Kargbo was the only player selected from Sierra Leone Prisons FC.
