Isatu Turay & Alusine Gbao just from Kampala
Marketing/ Organising Secretary of Sierra Leone Athletics Association (SLAA), Musa Emmauel Mansaray aka Pajero Baraka Sparky, has applauded the performance of Sierra Leonean athletes at the just concluded World Cross Country Championships in Kampala, Uganda.
The SLAA Marketing/ Organising man said the Sierra Leonean duo performed better than other nations, especially Italians, Lebanon, Nigeria and Seychelles.
In the women U-21, Isatu Turay finished 96 places 29:31 sec out of 105 athletes in which seven did not finished the race and in the men senior category, Alusine Gbao finished 125th places, with a time of 36:27 out of 136 athletes, who finished among the 146 athletes.
“Our athletes did well especially for Alusine who made his international appearance in the competition,” ‘Pajero’ said.
